0205 INST - NPA ON NOTICE TO ALL CARRIER AND MARITIME AGENT ON CARGO TRACKING NOTE (CTN) 19/02/2010

Dear Customer, This is to inform all shippers that effective 1st March 2010 the Container Tracking Note (CTN) is part of the documentation requirement of the Nigeria Ports Authority (NPA) for all shipments to/from Nigeria. The implementation is in line with International Maritime Organization (IMO) requirements as per Federal Executive Council (FEC) of Nigeria and NPA. The CTN was scheduled to take off from 11th January, 2010, has been shifted to 1st March, 2010 to extend a grace period to shippers and consignees. As per NPA the CTN is a web-based technology tool for monitoring export and import cargoes to all Nigerian ports. The NPA has appointed a Belgium-based company, TPMS ANTASER AFRIQUE, as their representative to manage the CTN requirement. TPMS ANTASER AFRIQUE’s have appointed representatives worldwide for the issuance of the CTN and shippers are requested to contact TPMS ANTASER AFRIQUE’s for any further information.
